2024 Good Brick Awards program

Preservation Houston has presented Good Brick Awards since 1979 to recognize outstanding historic preservation projects — and we’re inviting you to join us online at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, to learn more about this year’s Good Brick winners.

The 2024 Good Brick Awards recognized projects that represent the variety of preservation work happening in Houston. This year's award winners included a sensitive addition to a classic Old Sixth Ward cottage, the meticulous restoration of Houston's oldest firehouse, a creative re-use of an East End laundry plant and the rehabilitation of the Third Ward's iconic Eldorado Ballroom. Architect David Bucek, FAIA, was honored with the 2024 PH President's Award for his contributions to historic preservation in Houston and Texas.

During this online program, hosted by PH Programs Director Jim Parsons, you’ll see dramatic before-and-after photos of the projects and hear the stories of the work that went into their transformations.
