Interested in submitting a project for the 2026 Good Brick Awards? Join Preservation Houston Programs Director Jim Parsons for a free online workshop at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. The session will walk you through the nomination process and offer practical advice to help you put your best foot forward.
The Good Brick Awards have recognized outstanding contributions to the preservation, restoration and enhancement of Houston and Harris County’s architectural and cultural heritage since 1979. Presented annually, the awards honor building restorations and reuse projects along with exceptional preservation work by individuals, organizations and institutions.
Nominations for the 2026 awards are now open and will be accepted through 3 p.m. Monday, September 8. Anyone can submit a nomination, and this workshop will help you prepare a strong, effective entry. Watching the workshop is not required to submit a nomination; it’s simply a way to learn more about the process and get your questions answered.
During the virtual program, Parsons will provide a quick overview of what’s required and share tips for clearly presenting your project, organizing information and creating image sheets that show a project at its best. Whether you’re a first-time nominator or a past award recipient, you’ll leave with the tools to make the most of your submission — and there will be plenty of time for questions.
There's no charge to register for the workshop. RSVP by Monday, June 9.
