Among the locations you can look forward to touring in the fall is the Ewart H. Lightfoot House in the Audubon Place Historic District, which received one of PH's 2018 Good Brick Awards. Lightfoot, a local builder, completed the Craftsman-style house for his family in 1921. He built a number of unique features into the structure, including an intercom system he designed and patented and a massive fireplace made of ballast stones collected from the Houston Ship Channel.

In addition to refurbishing those elements during a recent restoration, the homeowners restored original hardware and finishes, brought historic sash windows back to working condition and even painstakingly returned a vintage Can-O-Mat wall-mounted can opener to its original appearance.

See all that, and much more, when you join us on October 27 and 28 for the 2018 Good Brick Tour. Expect further details, including information on additional tour locations, advance ticket reservations and volunteer opportunities, this summer.
