Good Brick Awards are presented to people and organizations in recognition of outstanding preservation projects. But preservation is never a solo act. Architects, developers, contractors, designers, craftspeople, writers and project teams all contribute to work worthy of recognition. To acknowledge that shared effort, Preservation Houston offers companion Good Brick Awards for award-winning projects.
These companion awards are not duplicates of the primary Good Brick Award. Instead, they reference the project itself — a lasting marker of your involvement in a recognized preservation success.
Sample companion award plaques are shown below. Plaque wording is project-based and will vary depending on the type of award and year of recognition.
How to order
Companion awards are available to professionals and collaborators involved in a Good Brick Award-winning project, whether it is being honored this year or was recognized in a prior year. E-mail us to get started and we’ll help coordinate the details.

Companion awards reference the project, not an individual recipient
Please allow two weeks for production
When your award is ready, we’ll notify you to arrange pickup at our office, 3907 Main Street in Midtown.

Each Good Brick Award — including companion awards — is an antique brick with a gold plate affixed to the front. It’s the same award Preservation Houston has presented since 1979, linking today’s recognized projects to the city’s physical past and to a long-standing respect for craft, care and continuity. No two bricks are exactly alike, underscoring the individuality of the projects they represent.
