Pier & Beam October Happy Hour

  • Nickel City 2910 McKinney Street Houston, TX, 77003 United States (map)

Preservation Houston’s next-generation member group invites you to their casual monthly happy hour. Open to ages 21–45, Pier & Beam is a great way to connect with others who share an interest in preservation, architecture and history. Whether you’re already a member or just curious, these gatherings are an easy introduction to the group.

This month’s happy hour takes place in one of EaDo’s standout preservation stories. Built in 1949 as the Peaslee-Gaulbert paint showroom and warehouse, the 65,500-square-foot building at 2910 McKinney Avenue was purchased in 2020 by developer Shon Link and reimagined with architect Kelie Mayfield as a creative hub for design, art, food and fashion. Restored brick walls, steel windows and soaring concrete pillars now frame a mix of creative businesses — with Nickel City anchoring the building as a neighborhood favorite.

The happy hour will run from 6 to 8 p.m. As always, Pier & Beam happy hours are casual: come when you can, leave when you’re ready and pick up your own tab. They’re also a great way to introduce friends to the group, so bring someone along!
