Step inside four remarkable homes during Preservation Houston’s 12th annual Good Brick Tour on Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9. From a lovingly restored Craftsman bungalow in the First Ward to the dramatic Style in Steel townhomes — open as a group for the first time since 1969 — this year’s lineup shows how thoughtful preservation keeps Houston’s history part of everyday life:
1507 Alamo Street (First Ward)
2018 Kane Street (Sixth Ward)
9 Shadowlawn (Museum District)
Style in Steel Townhomes, 4158 Meyerwood Drive (Southwest Loop)
Tour hours are noon to 5 p.m. each day, and all four houses will be open for you to explore at your own pace. Each stop offers a different perspective on preservation, from careful restorations to creative adaptations that honor a home’s history while meeting contemporary needs.
